  • They were very open and welcoming to me. The worship service & music was really inspiring and well done. The inside was remarkable with beautifully stained glass and kind people. Thank you for letting me participate and listen in on your Sunday sermon!

  • I have had such a refreshing experience here at the Congregational Church of Sunnyvale. The people that make the church are sincerely warm hearted, open and affirming to ALL who enter. I have felt at home, fully loved and welcomed into this family. I love that their influence of radical welcome reaches beyond the walls of the church as they serve where there is need within the community.

  • This has been my church home for the past 51 years. Both of my daughters were baptized here. We have been through a lot over the years, including damage from a tornado in 2008.

We are currently on a big upswing. Our finances are strong and our membership is growing slowly but steadily. We are blessed to have an energetic and creative pastor in Ron Buford. He is doing an outstanding job in growing our church.

  • Strong progressive values and a commitment to value all people anchor this gem of a church whose pastor, Ron Buford, was instrumental in the creation of the famous "Still Speaking" UCC national publicity campaign of 2004+. Theologically, Pastor Buford's approach positions the church well, with a commitment to the love of God for all people, the acknowledgement that the world today is not yet the reality that we seek, and a strong, repeated assertion that positive change in ourselves and in the larger world is both a possibility and a responsibility.

The worship style is mainline Protestant in a traditional church sanctuary, with a few elements of what I might call "praise worship" interspersed. Sunday attendance levels of 20 to 30 people (as of summer 2016) put this church into the "cozy and get to know everyone" category, so if you're looking for anonymity within a crowd of several hundred worship attendees, that's probably not what you'll find here. Worship at 11 AM is always followed by refreshments (and occasionally a full catered lunch) and conversation in the fellowship hall, so come for the service and stay for the people.

  • Beautiful building and music, a place accepting of all people, thoughtful and Biblical messages, and friendly, interesting people. I love being there each Sunday.
